I was genuinely thrilled to photograph this concert. Having not attended a musical event for a while, receiving a positive response to my email made me feel appreciated and understood by someone who had taken the time to explore my project.
What made the experience even more special was that they didn’t burden me with a set of rules or directives on how to behave; they simply granted me a photo pass. Òlafur Arnalds was nothing short of marvelous, using his exceptional talent to craft an amazing atmosphere that I felt fortunate to share.
This concert presented a unique challenge. With sensitive musical pieces punctuated by many silences, I was determined not to let my shutter disrupt a single note. The most challenging aspect, however, was the multitude of people taking photos without regard for the prevailing silence. The constant clicking throughout the performance forced me to question my own actions. Consequently, most of these photos were taken at the end of or in between songs, respecting the delicate nature of the performance.
